Vacation in Hurghada. Great places to visit outside the hotel

As for me, the beginning of the year was marked by a trip to one of the most popular tourist destinations in Egypt, Hurghada. What made me decide to travel there? No doubt- the price! A week's trip for two costs 28,000 rubles.

Thus, I went there to relax and forget about physical activity and to take a break from work.

Upon arrival in Hurghada, the first thing a tourist will encounter is the process of obtaining a visa at the airport. Sites everywhere provide information that this procedure will cost 25 dollars. After leaving the plane, there will be banners everywhere containing the same information. However, when you get to the counter, they will tell you 27 dollars, regardless of the fact that 25 is written somewhere. It is actually 25 euros, they say. The Egyptian officer threw away the passports of passengers who stated or appeared to lack enough money.

Be aware that the visa will cost you $27 (pay only in cash).

Following all these procedures, a bus picked us up and took us to our hotels. At 8 in the morning, we were there, which was not very pleasing since we had to check in at 2 o'clock. Fortunately, they let us eat breakfast there.

Our two-hour walk in Hurghada in the morning ended with us returning to the hotel and begging tearfully to check us in early. Friendly staff agreed to our request and provided us with a room. In the same polite manner, the staff dragged us into the room with our luggage and took us to our destination. The man stood in the room with us for a long time, probably expecting some tip)) We said "thank you" without thinking about it and closed the door. Everyone in the hotel is waiting for their tips obsessively, which can get very tiring sometimes.

Another obsessive service excursion followed. As soon as the man rejected the proposed types of entertainment for the 100th time, he turned from a polite and kind person into an aggressive person, as he wouldn't receive his bonus ...

In the end, we lay down in our room after having gone through all these intrusive procedures, but ...

Having been there for about an hour, we realized it was very cold and impossible to remain there. After mentioning this to the hotel manager, he gave us two extra blankets... However, it did not save me... Under two blankets, I slept in the clothes I wore when I came from Moscow.

The next morning, we met with the manager again. He moved us to a new room. This new room was much warmer and cleaner than the last one.

There was a good selection of food. Every day, we were fed three times, plus we had snacks by the beach in between. There was free alcohol as well. There was a choice of beer and cocktails. The only downside was the small glasses, enough for two sips each.

There were two pools and slides at the hotel, along with a private beach.

The location of the hotel was a big deal to me. I really did not want to stop in the middle of the desert without experiencing life.

You're in Hurghada, so...

Your very first step will probably be to go out to the main street and walk along it, looking for at least one store that is not a luxury brand since everything will be ''Gucci and Prada''.

Sherry Street

It is a pleasant street with lots of souvenir shops, of course.

But here I would like to stop you, right in front of a wonderful shop, where they make the most delicious baklava right in front of you!

Here's my recommendation: go there and get a sweet set!

Marina

The promenade is beautiful, the restaurants are plentiful, and there are a number of shiny yachts that are especially photogenic at sunset.

El Dahar

It's a local bazaar where you can find fresh fruit and local color in plenty.

El Gouna

Near the bazaar, you can take a minibus and visit Egyptian Venice.

In addition to the above places, Hurghada also has a gorgeous mosque

You can find various memos by walking the streets

There are lots of cultural, architectural, and lifestyle aspects that one can experience in this city.

After spending seven days in Hurghada, I'd say five days would be adequate for me, but that's because I don't like beaches or relaxing near the water.

However, I would like to point out that the city is in the process of being built up. This means that they are trying to attract as many tourists as possible. Perhaps in a few years, there will be new places that make me think differently. Meanwhile... speaking of Egypt, I would love to visit Cairo on my own.

Wishing you all a wonderful time in Hurghada!
