El Gouna. Traveling from Hurghada to El Gouna by yourself

In case you suddenly find yourself in Egypt, namely in the "all-inclusive" resort of Hurghada, and you are tired of lying on the beach and drinking free alcohol, I recommend an excursion to Egyptian Venice.

It didn't make sense to me why Venice because I didn't find many similarities there.

We stayed on one of the main streets - Sheraton.

You can catch a local minibus on this street that will take you to the station, from which you can catch a bus to El Gouna.

Since I didn't know where the stops were and where to wait for the minibus, we decided to walk to the station ... It took us about two hours to walk to the station. As we walked along, the tourist street became a colorful, slightly garbage-filled, sand street, where the locals of the city apparently live.

Once you arrive at the Dahar Bazaar, turn left and walk all the way to the end of the market.

Several forums claimed you can catch a bus at the turn near the bazaar, but it didn't work out for us, so I recommend walking to the station.

At the station, there will be a lot of minibuses, but you need to find the yellow Go Bus buses. In Egypt, prices and directions can change according to the situation and the tourist, so it is best to verify the route before boarding.

There are approximately 40 minutes of driving between Dahar and El Gouna.

According to the drivers, buses run every 15 minutes.

El Gouna feels like Europe when you arrive: it's quiet, clean, has cute cafes, and no one shouts at you on the street: "Magnet, sneakers, perfume!"

Everything is calm and civil. Small cars called "Tuk Tuk" are used for city transportation; the cost is

20 Egyptian pounds.

Around noon, when we arrived, most of the pubs and restaurants were closed, and the beaches were all empty. It was strange to us...

The trip there lasted for about 2-3 hours, and we had lunch at a small cafe called Snack Shack

Snack Shack:

Inas El Dagheidy Street Hurghada, Downtown, Red Sea Governorate, Египет

Let's talk about the prices now:

As I have never paid the same amount for a fare, I find this topic very interesting. Drivers seem to come up with prices for tourists on the go.

Bus to El Gouna - 15 Egyptian pounds

Bus from El Gouna - 12.5 Egyptian pounds

Minibus to Hurghada - 3 Egyptian pounds

(I was told this price by a boy sitting in a minibus, so I gave the driver the exact amount.)

Overall, I enjoyed the trip because we saw the city's real urban bustle as well as the elite area of the city.

There may be an excursion from a hotel to this city, or to the Dahar Bazaar, for a different price than I mentioned above.

Go by yourself since it will give you more impressions and emotions, plus you won't depend on anyone else.

Go Bus also operates in Cairo and Luxor. In spite of not getting to any of these points this time, you can easily arrange an independent trip to these cities using this type of transportation.

Tickets may be purchased both on the website and at the station.

Prices range from 190 Egyptian pounds.
